Hi everyone. This Diwali has dazzled heavily with crackers,sweets and clothes,not only that,but also with the Movie of thala,Arambam. Ajith’s 53 rd film is that good. In the first half of the story, Ajith seems to be like villain, but soon after when the Second part starts, the reason behind ajiths acts was revealed.Ajith’s acting is Simply Superb, as he said in his film, Let’s make it simple.Arya and Tapsee chemistry worked out well.This movie starting with the puzzle ends with the solution.Vishnuvardhan, Yuvan And Ajith combo was again a hit. This movie is a feast for Thala fans, and a good meal for the common people.

There was a huge expectation for this pongal as the two superstars films were screened together after 7 years. And this happened to be a great start of 2014. Ilayathalapathy did this earlier in pokkiri, gilli, and now too. Jilla is a mass entertainer. The movie revolves around Shiva(Mohanlal) and Shakthi(Vijay) whose father died for former family. So, shakthi is living with shiva , don in madurai.circumstances forcing shakthi to join police which he dont want. But when an accident results in death of several innocents, shakthi wanted his father to leave all the wrong things.
Neason understands the problem between shiva and shakthi is powerful and he had handled it well. Vijay and kajal pair did their best. Soori comic worked out well. Music topped the charts. The movie was little bit long. This made the viewers bore. And jilla is a perfect mass entertainer.
Vinayagam(Ajith)celebrates "Veeram"ana Pongal. The movie revolves around him and his four brothers. The movie is directed by Siva, who is known for his mass entertainers. Tamannah plays the leading lady in the film and Devi Sri Prasad has come up with some peppy songs.Everything is perfect in the film.The first half gets powerless due to Santhanam's comedy and other romantic scenes.But really awesome. Director Siva and Ajith and crew made a mass movie.DSP music makes movie more interesting.Finally Jilla and Veeram makes "thala thalapathy "Pongal.

Tamil Cinema is known for producing unexpected and memorable cult classics. Goli Soda is easily one movie which is completely new to Tamil cinema.
Goli Soda basks on a group of adolescent boys residing in the Koyambedu market. The obstacles they face and the way they wind themselves out of the problems is what the movie is all about.
For audience who are expecting a feel good simple film like Pasanga, think otherwise cause Goli Soda is a completely different and unique experience. The way Vijay Milton sketched the characters of the adolescent boys are terrific and their screen presence provides the feel just like seeing Ajith, Vijay or any other powerful mass heroes on screen.
Every character in the movie is very unique and novel, especially Sujatha of Paruthiveeran fame who has done a fabulous job in the Aachi role and the lead villain is another great find who has given a very powerful performance.

The GOLI SODA features the lives of four boys sreeram,murugesh,kishoreand pandi.They are wages in Koyambedu market. Though they are orphans they are cheerful.The only thing they lack is IDENTITY.
The kind soul Aachi(sujatha) acts as a guide.Aachi seeks Naidu's (Madgusudhan)helps to bring a identity in boys life.After that they opens a Eatery which was a massive success.The problem comes in the form of Naidu brother -in-law Murali.As things got worsen fight breaks out and they are seperated.
How the boys got united and re-brings their identity forms the rest of story.Imman entertains the audience from the beginning.The film is all about friendship.GOLI SODA is a worth watchable movie.

ReplyDeleteIt is yet another typical commercial pot boiler tailor made for Ajith,except this time he has exchanged his suits and guns for dhothis and sickles.A seriously dumb female lead and very predictable plot turns makes this movie watching experirnce a tiresome one.Santhanam produces a few laughs..but you can see he too running out of jokes. So if you are a die hard ajith fan you can watch it. otherwise stay safe at home.It was a family entertainer with a lot of focus on violence. There was comedy and romance too, but we don't get to see anything different.Other than Ajith none of them has a strong screen presence.On the whole,this movie is watchable only by his fans and it has been filmed in his favour.But ironically the film isn't as powerful as much as Ajith's character is .

ReplyDeleteVijay Milton has tried to make a sequel of Pandiaraj's Pasanga. A perfect masala movie.Instead of hero's and heroines facing the villan ,young kids do it here.
Friendship,love,sentiment,fight,you have everything in this movie.Kids break up friendship,get back together,face the villan, achieve their goal, its a good family entertainer.
Good cinematography, usual script handled and directed with a small budget. Songs were not catchy.

ReplyDeleteThe list of movies released this year are jilla, veeram etc., goli soda also comes under this list. Not only under but also tops the list. This movie directed by S.D. Vijay Milton revolves around four teenagers working at koyambedu market for their daily wages and about their fate changing story. This movie is well named after Goli soda, an aerated drink which when compressed, just pushes itself out under pressure. Likewise , this movie talks about normal teenagers who emerge as heroes when their identity is removed from them. It is narrated well with an expected plot. The background score enhances the screenplay. Every individual, living in this universe should have an identity is the message behind this movie . The same commercial formula(Friendship, love, unfairness ,revenge) is used in this movie which makes Goli soda , a drink without refreshment.
VEERAM, casting Ajith and Tamannah in the lead was directed by Siva well known as Siruthai Siva.
ReplyDeleteVeeram is a classic example, which elevates Ajith and leaves the rest of the ensemble cast behind. It's a pity to see talented actors merely reduced to a few scenes while the newcomers hardly have any presence. The film is dedicated to Ajith, who is as charismatic as ever in his role. However, he is unfortunately not complemented by a strong screenplay.
It was expected to be a better movie but a powerless one despite Ajith's strong role.

ReplyDeleteLast year 2013 had a lot of movies of different genres throughout the year. Some managed to win both hearts of people and box office. But few movies failed to succeed commercially, despite of the quality of that movie and a few failed to have a quality instead did a better business. The movie that I am gonna discuss here is the one which succeeded in every criteria. It is "Briyani" of Venkat Prabhu known for his offbeat entertainers. The movie is a multi-starrer which had Karthi, Hansika and Premgi Amaren and a pack of well known supporting actors like Nasser, Madhumitha, Ramki, Tharika, VijayaLakshmi, Sampath, Jayaprakash, Uma Riyaz etc., Proverb says,'Too many cooks, spoil the broth', with Briyani, Venkat proved the proverb wrong. Karthi plays the role Sugan, who with his friend Parasu played by Premgi, gets framed for the murder of Varadharajan, a business tycoon played by Nasser, manages to escape with his smartness. Hansika plays Karthi's love interest and gives a pleasing appearance. The 'Tadka' part of Briyani is induced by Mandy Thakar with a scorching appearance in each frame and she has made everyone go crazy on the "Mississippi" song. Screenplay was at it's best and everything was unpredictable. All the confusions get cleared during the climax and that's what makes Briyani an offbeat thriller. Another important thing about the movie is, it is the 100th movie for it's music director Yuvan Shankar Raja. He had given a pleasant album with various varities of songs and even the background score helps accelerating the screeenplay. But still at some places he had used his father's old BGMs which makes us feel bad. Yet it suits the situation. On the whole as said in a song "2013... Dei indha varushamum nanga dhan da...", Briyani rocked the screens and for sure it is a mega-hit of 2013.
And I disagree with the point Dhilipan stated that Veeram had some "peppy" tunes. The music of the songs of Veeram are complete disaster.

A movie which touched the heart of the world. It not only entertains but also enlightens you about the life of an 8 year old boy Ishaan Awasthi (Darsheel Safary) who finds it difficult to match his world with the others of his age group. On the arrival of pool of complaints, Ishaan’s parents decide to put him on a boarding school. However, it gets him more worse being away from home. He feels more dejected and worried to cope up with his inabilities. Then comes Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan) as a temporary teacher to his school. The story ends showing how Nikumbh makes Ishaan’s parents realise his problem and his hidden talent in painting. Darsheel Safary has given his best performance and Aamir as usual the best supporting role. Though there are a few flaws in the film, they have become a drop in the ocean. To be precise, it is a classy, charming, composed and elegant for a debut director.

Film shows Vinayagam’s ( Ajith) deep love and affection towards his four parentless brothers, which makes him to feel not to leave them for any cause. Film shows Vinayagam deep negative feeling towards marriage as the event of separation of his brother until he meet Koopu (Tamanaah).
Vinayagam in one side feels marriage as separation, brother in other side have chosen their life partner.
Advocate Bail Perumal (Santhanam) with his timing comedy and idea to pair Vinayagam and Koopu to have the solution for their brother marriage have provided strong bond to the film.
Initially Vinayagam and Koopu falls in love without knowing their actual character .Later feels sad after knowing the truth. Vinayagam try himself to keep away from fight and stunt as Koopu desire. Vinayagam got impressed by Koopu and Koopu’s family which makes him once again to reveal his nature fearless and brave character to perform stunning stunt with Aadalarasu (Atul Kulkarni) to save Koopu’s family from Villan’s revenge , which is later liked by Koopu and Nallasivam (Nassar), which motivates Vinayagam and Koopu’s marriage adds up the relation to his brother rather than separation of brothers as he felt earlier.

' Thala' Ajith acting in a sentimental family story, after a long time acting in action movies, had a new taste for this pongal. Ajith plays the role of 'Vinayagam' who is the elder brother of his four younger brothers. Santhanam,as an advocate, helps vinayagam for his brother's bail for their brawls. Ajith attitude of not getting married, changes after meeting 'koppu'(Tamannah). The chemistry between ajith and tamannah was not that appreciatable. But it was the comeback movie for tamannah after three years to film industry. First half is a masala mix of love,care,fight,comedy,sacrifice, and the second half begins with a twist. Vinayagam likes koppu's family and protects her family unknowing to them from villan adalarasu,who wants to destroy her family.Nallasivam(Nasar), father of koppu,hates fight and war. How vinayagam impress and protect tamannah family, is the second half. In an overall view, the movie is so sentimental and emotional which does not suit ajith as good as his action movies. Songs were folkish and sounds loud.

ReplyDeleteMy review is about the movie which released worldwide on January 10th this year and which had collected some drastically huge box office collections .Yes, I am gonna give review about JILLA.
Expectations will always be high as Illaya thalapathy Vijay was in the movie. Adding to that the names of Mohanlal and Kajal Aggarwal automatically rose the expectations of the audience. The success of teaser/trailer which also generated a huge curiosity among the minds of the audience.
The story revolves around the influential businessman cum local don Sivan (Mohanlal) brought up Shakthi (Vijay) like his own son along with his younger son Vignesh (Mahat) and daughter Mahalakshmi (Niveda Thomas). Sivan is very close to Shakthi and they all lead a happy life. Shakthi hates khakhi colour as his father was killed by a policeman.
In the mean time, Shakthi falls in love with Shanti (Kajal Aggarwal), but refuses to pursue the love after he comes to know that she is a cop. In order to hold control over the local issues, Sivan manages to convince his adopted son, who hates police, to become a cop who gets posted in their city itself.
All goes fine till a gas explosion costs hundreds of life in the city. Shakthi, who was not serious about his work, gets upset with the incident. More importantly, the fact that his father is involved in this issue makes him angry. Situation changes him to go against his father. So the remaining story is about how Shakthi changes his father Sivan the don of madurai into a common man by his smart moves. Between this, he(sivan) loses his brother Vignesh(Mahat) and a ordinary minister transforms into the villain of the story.
The movie is filled with action, romance, sentiment ,dance and comedy track done Soori. It is pucca commercial movie filled with mass acting Vijay and with some extraordinary performance by Mohanlal.
My rating is 3.5/5 to Jilla.

If we turn back in our life we can able to know that how many friends are keep in touch with us. Enrendrum Punnagai, a movie which was taken with friendship as a main theme. Next to "Vaamanan" this is the second film of Director Mueenudd Ahmed. Gowtham (Jiiva), Shri (Vinay Rai), Baby (Santhanam), the three people who are friends from their childhood and inseparable. Nazar plays the role of an artist, who is Gowtham's father in this film. Gowtham (jiiva), from his childhood had a bad opinion about women, because for his mom's mistake. Because of his ego problem he did not speak with his father for 15 years. The three friends were running an ad company. Those three people took an oath not to get married in their life. At the same time the girl named Priya (Trisha) was introduced as an employee of advertisement. Suddenly Gowtham's friends got married and he fights with his friends and they get separated. Santhanam's humour is good in first half. The second half director takes the movie to the romantic side. The chemistry between Trisha and jiiva has worked out well. The Music was composed by Harris Jeyaraj and the song 'Ennai Saaithale' is one of the best song of 2013. The second half answers whether he leaves his ego and joins with his father and his friends? how he succeed in his love? even-though it is the normal story it is very entertaining. Totally the movie is a mixture of Romance, Comedy, Realistic emotion.

Ajith has four brothers. ottanchathiram vinayakam is both respect full and fear full tamanna has played a beautiful roll .the film is commercial .santhanam makes the audience laugh .fight scenes in the movie is good.chemistry is not appealing. the main theme is ajith wants to be united with his brothers. he hates marriage .he wants to safeguard tamanas family.climax is all about how he marries tamana and safeguards her family.
Brave, Bold and Iconic. The Wolf of Wall Street directed by legendary Martin Scorsese, includes a high profile cast list of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Jean Dujardin, Margot Robbie, and many more. The Oscar-nominated film was provocative in many aspects. The 3 hour drama shocked the audience with excess of drugs, sex and greed. At one point of time it just went on to incessant screaming, and was repetitive. The film glorified Jordon Belfort’s a small-town stock broker from penny stocks finding a fast and cynical route to the top of opening a firm Stratton Oakmont, and of course the near-limitless supplies of girls and drugs he finds there. As such, the film stands accused for glamourizing his crimes, ignoring his victims and failing to satisfy the audience’s need to see justice served. The momentum is lost towards the end, and the actual impact or the seriousness of money laundering and stock market frauds was not felt……but instead it left the wrong message of being quite titillating, (don’t know If that was the reaction the director was aiming for) and that it was okay to be high. The excellent acting skill portrayed by the actors, made it seem so natural and convincing that we are forced to accept the ugly truth that this is America! And Leo deserves a “bleep” Oscar for being the Wolf of Wall Street!

hala's fan but becoz the movie was awesome ......Ajith plays the eldest of five brothers........... and is a toughie who hates marriage.he turns over a new leaf to please his lady love koppu (potrayed by tamannah ) and back again to a macho to save koppu's family.Santhanam's comedy in the first have is better than that of thambi ramaya's in the second ............the music is scored by DSP which was bearable however people was seen walking out during the song sequence...The movie was a treat to the die hard fans of thala Ajith.

DeleteHi...This is a movie review of Endrendrum Punnagai.....which casts Jeeva,Vinay,Santhanam,Trisha,Nasser and Andrea in the lead directed by Mueenudd Ahmed of "Vamanan" fame...This movie created a different outlook on love and friendship with a little focus on father-son relationship...The first half of the story revolves around inseperable three friends-Gautham (Jeeva), Shri (Vinay) and Baby(Santhanam) who run their own advertising agency. Gautham has no belief both in love and women, due to his childhood experience. He hasn't spoken to his father,an artist, for 15 years due to his misunderstanding. He made a pact with his friends to never get married.While Priya (Trisha) who works in ad agency. She believes in love.The story takes a turn when both the friends decide to get married.The second half of the story is quiet predictable.... angered Gautham decides to stay away from his friends.This loneliness in his life gets him closer with Priya. And he starts loving her...but still his ego holds him back..

Does his love suceed or not?...the climax has it all.On the whole, Endrendrum Punnagai is a good entertainer, Harris music score is refreshing and soothing to the heart, especially "ennai saithalae"...and it is a film worth investing your time on..:)

The story of New York stockbroker Jordan Belfort. From the American dream to corporate greed, Belfort goes from penny stocks and righteousness to IPOs and a life of corruption in the late 80s. I really liked the growth of the lead role that was portrayed in the film, from a small time broker to a one who is so drunk with power and money. Leo was so convincing that it was a one man show and he deserves an Oscar truly, finally his time has come!

ReplyDeleteEvery person has his own unique identity.....if it is erased then he is nothing but a dead man....this was the message conveyed through a movie "Goli Sooda", directed by S.D.Vijay Milton, this was his second movie which gave him a big hit. The story starts in Koyembed Market, where how the 4 boys take efforts to find their identity is said in this movie....the "pasanga" boys Kishore (pulli), Sree Raam (settu), Pandi (sithappa), Murugesh (kuttimani)and the 2 girls (seetha,chandini) have acted fantastically. and have lived as the character. coming to the villains (R.K Vijay Murugan,Madhusudhan) who acted superbly....thn Aachi (sujatha), Imman Annachi (mandhiravaathi) handle their roles perfectly. The dialogues of pandiraj was awesome, especially the line 'AACHI VANTHAA THAAN MAILU VARUVAAN' was well applauded by the audience. The editing of antony, the music and the background, the cinematography was superb. The fight sequence between the boys and the villain group was a realistic....and the climax was excellent......and all in all Goli Sooda was a fabulous realistic revenge movie......

After the huge success of Aarambam, expectations were sky-high for the Ajith starrer Veeram. Directed by Siva, who gave the commercially successful Siruthai in 2011, the film is produced by Vijaya Productions, the prestigious banner of the late producer B. Nagi Reddy.
Borrowing a storyline from several films of the 1990s in Tamil cinema, Veeram narrates the story of Vinayagam (Ajith), who single-handedly raised his four brothers and wouldn't hesitate to wield arms to protect them or even all the people close to him for that matter. But a situation forces him to lower his arms and swear to never raise them again.
Among other actors, Santhanam keeps the entertainment meter ticking with his humour.
While the first half is an attempt to keep the audience hooked with a lot of humour and romance, the latter half is plagued with violence, too much of it. Director Siva has strictly made Veeram for the fan-boys of Ajith, and it works in his favour.
Veeram translates to courage or powerful. But ironically the film isn't as powerful as much as Ajith's character is, and therefore, is powerless.

Every movie there was a expectation but in Ilayathalpathi Vijay movie there was huge expectation because of Jilla. Jilla gave a mass success.
Jilla is the story of Sivan (Mohanlal),who has Monetary power on Temple town Madurai and his adopted son Sakthi (Vijay),most favourite among three children.Jilla begins with a classy intro by Sivan (Mohanlal) followed by flashback.
In between Gopal (Soori) Sakthi's (Vijay) Friend,his humour was awesome performance.But real fun begins when Sakthi (Vijay) arrives with deliberate stunt scene.Movie take a turn when Sivan (Mohanlal) tuns a cop just to please his Godfather.Sakthi (Vijay) develops haywire on Sivan (Mohanlal) with a touch of Romance with Shanthi (Kajal). Will Sakthi follow Justice? Will he able to save Sivan?

ReplyDeleteMovie review of Rummy...Two love stories, Inigo Prabhakaran pairing up with Gayathrie Shankar and Vijay Sethupathi pairing up with Ishwarya Rajesh to present us the two very gentle yet firm love stories. All four played their roles in nice and casual way. It gives a feel of watching real people on the screen rather than actors. The story is completely untouched by urban lifestyle which makes it interesting to watch. Soori has taken good control of the comedy scenes.Music is a big plus.The mom character played by Sujatha Sivakumar catches our attention even with very less presence in the movie.
Rummy is an interesting and engaging movie. :) :) :)

Rajarani is a familiar tale. It is about John, a young man, and Regina , a woman, who get married,even though they can't stand each other and how they realize that, may be , there is alife and love in there relationship.Both have a romantic past,she with the innocent Sooriya (Jai) and he with the Keerthana (Nariya), have lost their loved ones in different ways,and are unwilling to come out of their loss. The flashbacks begin - Regina's past romance takes over the first half and in the second half , you get the love story of John and Keerthana.
This story of Rajarani tells that "There is life after love failure" and "There is love after love failure"

One film produced by the Aashrivad cinemas is doing wonders at the box office. Drishyam, a Malayalam film with Mohanlal in the lead has been running successfully since its release during Christmas 2013 till date. This film has proved to be a Major break for both the production banner and Mohanlal. The movie could very well boast of Mohanlal’s best performance in recent times,and the actor seems to be at remarkable ease playing the affable man, Who would stop at nothing until he sees that his family is safe. The Actress Meena has come back with a bang and she delivered an outstanding performance along with the two young girls Anisba and Esther who are sheer bundles of talent. A very special word of appreciation should go to Kalabhavan ,shajon as well who breaks the conventional seeing him in .Cinematographer Sujith Vasudev makes sure that the visuals are indeed deceiving and the camera moves in, and around stuffy rooms ,liberally hurling revelation at us one after the other. The musical score by Anil Johnson and VinuThomas has a refreshing delightful tenor to that certainly deserves an applause from the audience. The negative aspects that I have seen from the film is that some indecent jokes which did not strike a chord with the audience. Overall the Movie Drishyam is a sensational journey by a family as they go through a bitter crises, Which is perphaps more than What they can chew.It is a film with its heart at the right place and Two Big Thumbs Up to the Director and the crew attempt. Don’t miss this Movie. Do Watch It!!!!
